Meet Bea. This little one has so many amazing expressions, and she is expecting a new baby brother. Last time I knew she wanted to name him "Leopard"...hmm, not sure if that will stick.

Mom and Dad were so much fun, it won't be long before baby Leopard is here!!

I just love little toes!

Enjoy!
Meet baby Noah! I was a little late posting these, but I think they were worth the wait!
Noah was so sweet and squishy, and can't wait to meet his big brothers.

Enjoy!!

So, now we find ourselves on the west coast in sunny Ventura, CA. It is definitely going to be an adjustment, but I think we’re all up for the adventure.
The trip here was most interesting!
Well, let me start with the preparation. Both the cat and the bird needed health certificates (which as it turns out were never looked at). The cats visit went fairly well considering… that written on the top of her chart is the word “CAREFUL”- hee hee! Then, I had to take the bird to a special vet. The whole experience left Fawkes feeling totally violated, but for me it was quite funny and possibly unnecessary.
The Vet tech first grabbed the bird from the back with a napkin (note: this particular bird has never been handled this way). Then the squawking started. Then the Vet came in with some kind of camera plugged into a large TV screen- so I could see too. First she looked in his mouth (lots of screaming!),then in his eye, and then she stuck the camera into parts unknown! I’m pretty sure I didn’t need to see that!
Anyway, the torture- umm, exam wasn’t over. “Dr Jekyll” then decided to do an “aggressive” wing clipping- Yikes! Feathers were flying everywhere. To top it off, she brought out the drill with a file for the beak and nails. Wow, a birdie spa! NOT
Like I said- all possibly unnecessary, $65 later!!
This ended up as sort of a prelude to what was to come.
We had to leave our house at 5:30am to arrive in Philly for our flight at 9:00. Of course, we didn’t make it out until 6:00 am. All in all, we had 10 bags to check and about 2 carry-ons each including the cat and the bird.
About 20 minutes into the car ride it became apparent that my middle daughter was going to be car sick. Great! We still had about one hour left to go!!
If I could offer any advice to traveling parents…PACK SOMETHING LARGER THAN THE QUART SIZE BAGS REQUIRED AT THE AIRPORT!! Here I was, hanging over the front seat with the quart size baggie to assist my green faced little princess. My son was mashed up against the window in hopes that no over spray would come his way… This went on for about an hour. We were about ten minutes from the airport now and everyone was getting hungry-hmmm - very odd combo. So, we stopped at WAWA (as far as I know this is an East coast thing- gas station/mini mart.). Breakfast sandwiches for everyone, except Tim and Claire(the sick one), who apparently thought the combination of vomit and breakfast sandwiches was really not so good. Tim was just disgusted. In all his frequent travels, he had never experienced one like this.
We finally made it to the airport, checked our bags, and now it was on to Security…
We weren’t quite sure how this would go since we now had to take kitty out of her carrier and walk her through security. Thankfully, she was petrified enough to want to get back in — probably thinking “how did I get hooked up with these crazies?”
On to the plane! Which of course we were now late for. So anyone who wanted something to eat now would have to wait until we were on the plane and the snack boxes started. Uh oh!!
As it turns out the airline people decided it would be best to put us in the back of the plane…I mean the very last possible seats. The two girls were fighting over who would sit next to the window when the woman who was to sit there gave up her seat to my youngest. That figures!! Now everybody was happy again. Whew!!
I then start taking out my camera to document this momentous occasion, when I am informed that I must turn off my electronic device- okay it’s a camera that doesn’t transmit a signal people, but what do I know. Maybe, they’re just afraid the plane will crash and I will have the whole thing documented…Naww!!
Everything was sort of new to the girls since they had only flown once about 3yrs prior. So there was a lot of “what does this do?” “don’t touch that” going on. ( I felt like saying- “the door will open and we’ll all fly out!”- but I refrained.)
Tim and Claire, are now really hungry!! And we all want to pick out a snack box. Great, we have them all picked out, now we just have to wait for the cart to get to us…Well, the excitement grows until the aisle just before us, when the steward says-”we have nothing left.”
Really?
